Dean Hamilton is the Founder and CEO of Empire Film Group Inc. (OTC:
EFGU.PK), an independent film finance, production, and distribution
company with the unique financing advantage of being able to receive
Canadian subsidies, tax incentives, rebates and financing through its
ability to produce Canadian Content film and television projects.
Empire Film Group, Inc. is led by a management team with over 30 years
of experience in development, production, distribution, finance and
marketing of feature films and television programming. The Group has
filmed in various locations worldwide including the United States,
Canada, the Caribbean, Central and South America and Europe. Hamilton
and Empire Film Group are currently in active development on numerous
film, television and multi-media projects scheduled to be produced over
the next several years. Empire Film Group is actively distributing
theatrical films, DVDs and books through it wholly owned subsidiary
Empire Home Entertainment.
Hamilton has spent over twenty years creating, financing, marketing,
producing, directing and performing in feature films, television
specials and documentaries. Hamilton moved to Los Angeles to complete
his education at The University of Southern California Business School
after three years as an Accounting Major at Michigan State University.
He has collaborated as an Actor, Writer, Director and Producer on
numerous award winning feature films, television programs, live concert
events, documentaries, music videos and commercials. Hamilton has
directed some of the industries top stars including Martin Sheen, Roger
Moore, Kris Kristofferson, Danny Aiello, Graham Greene, Ian McShane,
Pamela Anderson, Denise Richards, Tyra Banks and Mickey Rooney.
Currently, Dean is producing several feature film and television
projects throughout the world. He recently completed the feature film "Blonde and Blonder" starring Pamela Anderson, Denise Richards and the
Farley Brothers. "Blonde & Blonder" world premiered at the 2007 Cannes
Film Festival and was released in 2008. "Blonde & Blonder II' is
presently in pre-production, scheduled to be filmed in 2010. Also in
2010, he will Produce and Direct "Havana Heat", an action adventure
thriller which is in pre-production scheduled to be filmed in Colombia.
Hamilton created and Executive Produced "The D.R.E.A.M. Team"
television series. He Directed the Pilot starring Martin Sheen prior to
the broadcast of the television series. The D.R.E.A.M. Team starred
Roger Moore, Angie Everhart, Traci Bingham and Jeff Kaake and was
filmed on the tropical Island Puerto Rico. The television series was a
one-hour action adventure show with explosive stunts, exotic locations,
mystery and intrigue.
Dean created, Executive Produced and Directed The "Supermodels in the
Rainforest' series filmed in Costa Rica and The Amazon, as well as
several other unique and exotic locations in Venezuela with numerous
high profile supermodels. "Supermodels in the Rainforest" won "Best
Documentary" in the "Film and Video Division" at the prestigious
"WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival" and won "Best
Independent Video" at the Charleston Film Festival. Volume I was filmed
in Costa Rica, in the nationally protected Rainforests. Some of the
models that have lent their support to the series include Tyra Banks,
Frederique Van Der Wal, Carol Alt, Stacey Williams, Rebecca Romijin and
Judit Masco. A Cable Special, Soundtrack, Video, Website, Calendar,
Screensaver, DVD, Enhanced CD ROM and Laser Disc were produced.
The feature film entitled "The Road Home", was Produced and Directed by
Hamilton. The film screened at various festivals which included The
Chicago International Children's Film Festival (winner of "Most Popular
Film"), The Santa Clarita Valley International Film Festival (winner of
Directors "Gold Medal Award" for excellence), The Atlantic
International Film Festival (Gala Screening), and the Cinemagic which
is part of the prestigious Northern Ireland Film Festival.
His first feature film "Savage Land" was well received as it was
nominated for "Best Song" at the "15TH Annual 1994 Genie Awards"
recognizing outstanding achievement in Canadian films. The film also
received "The Dove Foundation Family Seal of Approval Award". The
consumer response to the film was exceptional shipping over 1,000,000
units to the domestic Sell-Through market making it one of the best
selling independent titles in 1994. The cast included Academy Award
nominated actor Graham Greene from "Dances with Wolves" and "Thunderheart", Corbin Bernsen "L.A. Law" and "Major League", Brion
James "Blade Runner" and "The Player", Marty Kove "Karate Kid" and "Wyatt Earp".
Born in Windsor Ontario, Canada, Dean actually grew up across the river
in Detroit. He raced motorcycles competitively before becoming a
business major at Michigan State University. Achieving "walk-on" status
for the Spartans, their nationally recognized football team, his goals
suddenly changed when game injuries required re-constructive and career
ending ankle surgery. He moved to Los Angeles to finish his education at the University of Southern California Business School. While in school and attending acting classes at night, he successfully supported himself marketing calendar ventures, a business plan he developed in the USC Entrepreneur Program. One of the calendars, "Portraits by an Artist" was a black-and-white sophisticated calendar spotlighted by George Hurrel's famous photographs. Exuding class, the
calendar featured famous screen legends from the '30s and '40s
including Gable, Garbo, Cagney, Cooper, Barrymore, Weismuller and
Hepburn. In 1984, Dean received the distinguished "College Entrepreneur
of the Year Award" from Entrepreneur Magazine.
Immediately after college, Dean's acting career began to flourish when
he was put under contract in the Talent Development Program at ABC-TV.
Shortly thereafter he won a role as a regular on the Emmy Award winning
Soap, "One Life To Live". His acting career continued to grow with
other contracts, recurrent and guest starring roles building a
formidable body of work on well know shows such as "Tour of Duty", "21
Jump Street", "Facts of Life", "Night Heat", "Alfred Hitchcock
Presents" and feature films "Rushweek" and Disney's "Looking For
Miracles" His acting experience and time on numerous film sets and
sound stages have proven invaluable for his work as a Producer, Writer
and a Director.
Hamilton currently resides in Malibu, California with his son Zachary.
He enjoys coaching and traveling with his son who is a nationally
ranked track and field athlete and football player.
