DAVID MAGEDMAN
THEATRICAL DISTRIBUTION

David Magedman is the head of Empire Film Group's Theatrical Division for all feature film releases, and is responsible for the placement and promotion of the company's titles into theater chains nationwide.  Magedman is a highly respected film distribution professional with a top track record for box office success, and over 20-years of experience in theatrical distribution.  Prior to joining Empire, Magedman was Senior Vice President of Warner Independent Pictures, handling over thirty releases, including the Academy Award nominated films “Good Night and Good Luck”, “Paradise Now” and the all-time box-office record setting nature documentary, “March of the Penguins.”  Before joining Warners, Magedman set more box office records as the head of distribution for Artisan Releasing, and the distribution executive responsible for the record-setting results of “The Blair Witch Project.”

Current Empire theatrical projects being managed by Magedman include the family drama, “War Eagle, Arkansas” and the Abel Ferrara documentary, “Chelsea On The Rocks.”  Upcoming releases include the sci-fi epic “Thru The Moebius Strip”, the action-adventure “Boilermaker” and the World War II romance “The Rocket Post.”  Moving into the late fall of 2009 and early winter of 2010, Magedman will be handling four major Empire acquisitions from the Cannes Film Festival, details for which will be announced shortly.

The theatrical releasing office for Empire and David Magedman is located in Woodland Hills, California, at 5550 Topanga Canyon Blvd., with materials distribution activities handled out of Empire’s primary distribution center in Springdale, Arkansas.

A native of Los Angeles, Magedman attended Arizona State University where he was Vice President of Phi Sigma Kappa, overseeing finances and philanthropic events for the fraternity.  He currently lives in Calabasas with his wife and two children.
