Friday April 4, 11:38 am ET

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Empire Home Entertainment, the distribution division of Empire Film Group, Inc. (Other OTC:EFGU.PK - News) ("Empire Film") (http://www.empirefilmgroup.com), exceeded its first quarter DVD sales goal by 18%, led by retailer support for key new release titles and strong catalog business. The family-appeal films, Come Away Home and The Hilarious Saints of Comedy, were popular sellers, along with the original, made-for-DVD production, Teen Yoga, and the science fiction-horror titles The Fun Park and Dawn of the Living Dead, all of which performed at goal level or greater.

"Were encouraged by the retailer support for our DVDs, as well as the consumer response to these titles from both sell-thru and rental buyers, said Eric Parkinson, CEO of Empire Home Entertainment. We take pride in meeting and exceeding our goals, and feel confident that were on track for a solid 2008.

Empire Home Entertainments financial performance for the quarter ending March 30, 2008, will be incorporated into the quarterly filings of parent company, Empire Film Group, Inc., and reported per customary schedules. The Empire distribution division has slated ten new DVD titles and one new book release for the second quarter, but plans to focus much of the companys attention over the next few months on long-lead marketing and publicity for the July 18 nationwide theatrical release of Hounddog, starring Dakota Fanning, Robin Wright-Penn and David Morse. The highest profile home entertainment release for the 2nd quarter is expected to be the new Barr McClellan book, Made in the USA, from the companys Hannover House book publishing label.

In other news, Empire Home Entertainment has begun the formal move-in this week to new sales offices, warehouse space and a production studio in Springdale, Arkansas. The new facilities include the Empire Stage, which will be available to all Empire Film Group divisions for film and television projects and special-effects shooting. Distribution CEO, Eric Parkinson, will also be featured this week on Money TV, a nationally distributed cable program, where he will be discussing the companys growth, the upcoming theatrical release of Hounddog and the market opportunities for live-action 3D features, such as Empires Shadow Vision.
