Snipes, Lawrence Join 'Havana Heat'

Joey Lawrence, Wesley Snipes and Michael Dudikoff will star in indie actioner "Havana Heat," shooting in November for Tayrona Entertainment Group, MaandiMedia Entertainment and Empire Film Group. "Havana Heat," centers on a Homeland Security agent based in Gitmo who's murdered while undercover in Havana -- where crumbling Colonial architecture, vintage American cars and pulsating salsa provide the backdrop for betrayal and intrigue.
Tayrona plans to release "Havana Heat" next summer. Dean Hamilton ("Blonde and Blonder") is directing. Tayrona's James Ordonez and Ken Gord produce along with Dan Meachum of Maandi; Jose Antonio Ruiz-Diez and Sheila McCarthy of Tayrona are exec producers.
Mixed martial arts fighter Heath Herring is also starring with Latin American thesps Zulay Henao ("Fighting"), Lorena Rincon ("Stuck"), Raul Julia Jr. ("Epoch"), and Bollywood star Nicholas Brown ("Kites"). Tayrona's previously announced that it's partnering with Snipes' production banner MaandiMedia
Entertainment to produce the 3D family action adventure film, "Chronicles of the Mayan Tunnel," with shooting starting next spring.
