Smoke Alarm is the story of the quiet, small town of Marlborough which has managed to avoid progress over past decades in an effort to preserve it’s famous reputation as “Peaceful-ville” U.S.A.. However, all that is about to change. Marlborough has been chosen by the Federal Government as a MODEL TOWN to test it’s proposed radical smoking legislation to regulate and enforce a severe NO SMOKING BANS similar to the notorious 1920’s ‘Prohibition Era’. In short time, with the introduction of it’s SMOKE SQUAD SWAT TEAM, SMOKE EASIES and SMOKING & NON-SMOKING BUSES & STREETS, the quaint town is transformed into a divided community of Brother against Brother and Smoker against non-smoker. Believe it or not, all this quickly turns into a slapstick farcical comedy of errors which serves as the backdrop for a love story-murder-mystery that comes to an exciting comedic conclusion that spoofs at asking the serious political question: “Have we gone too far?” Duh!
